Emergency services are responding to an explosion, and subsequent fire that occurred at around 14:00 at the EURENCO factory in Bergerac Aug. 3. The facility manufactures propellants and explosive materials. Officials report the explosion injured at least eight people. The reason for the blast is currently unknown; local authorities are requesting residents to avoid the area.

Authorities have deployed heightened security measures around the facility to facilitate the security response, likely prompting localized disruptions, particularly on the D660 Highway. Disruptions could persist through Aug. 4.

Avoid the affected site until authorities give the all-clear; heed all instructions from emergency services. Consider remaining indoors and keeping windows and doors closed if operating in the vicinity of the facility. Check for disruptions before traveling in the surrounding area and allow extra time to complete journeys.
