Deliveries Received by Riders Across the Country

It’s official; SONDORS has finally ended the bottleneck era of delays with delivery of their first MetaCycles to a few chosen members of the motorcycle community!

A Youtuber named Daniel Kanes has just posted a video about his unit that arrived a day or so ago, alongside a Smith Longworth . Electrek tells us that ‘founder Storm Sondors [is] personally on site for the first Metacycle delivery ,’ and we anticipate the updates to continue flooding in as riders all over the country get their prized doorstep packages. 

Mind you – we still don’t know how the MetaCycle will hold up to the initial hype, and now the  electric small-capacity scoot purportedly boasts, ‘a new style of rim that was not seen on previous production prototype bikes.’

“The new rims have updated spoke mounting points that appear to protrude from the rim, as can be seen in the delivery photo below.”

Bottom line, the apparent hot air of previous promises on delayed due dates is at an end; clients are to expect a price hike from the initial $5,000 to around $6,500, with the specs still showing a claimed top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) and a maximum range of 80 miles (130 km) per charge. 

Should this bike be what we think it to be, its lean build, portable frame, and light construction will likely put it in direct competition with the Chinese-built Niu RQI.

Your falling for it. They’ve only delivered two biles. That’s it. There is absolutely no evidence anywhere that more than two have been delivered. No videos from anyone other than the two people who’ve been delivered to and from Storm delivering one of those two bikes. They don’t even have manuals for them. Not only that the batteries aren’t removable reneging on one of the main features. You’re helping Sondors scam everyone.

While I see your perspective, my priority will always be the facts, first and foremost.

For this reason, I actually went back and read the article to ensure my terminology was correct.

Not only was the verbiage accurate to what we know (aka., that two riders have received their MetaCycles), but I even made sure to list the bike’s specs as ‘claimed,’ in case of exaggeration on the brand’s part.

Still, thank you for contributing; until SONDORS’ MetaCycle shipments are proven to be a scam, I will stick to the proven facts, to keep all transparency and honesty #1 on the wBW docket.

SONDORS stands to disappoint a few customers that might actually expect a range of 80 miles while running 80 mph. On a battery the size supplied with the MetaCycle, that is not going to be even remotely possible. The company would do better to fully disclose actual range-at-speed specifications, similar to the way Zero does.

In complete agreement with your estimations re. the battery! We will see how the specs shore up as customers get out there and put their MetaCycles through her paces.

Re. the rewording: Sure Greg, I can change that verbiage for you if you like.

To any who may have misunderstood:

SONDORS’ ‘claims’ (aka., lack of tangible proof toward the MetaCycle’s specs on the brand’s website) applies to both sentence sections via the connector, ‘and.’

My wording can definitely be shortened for better ease of reading, so I am happy to oblige and will make the necessary adjustments. Thanks for the input, Greg. 🙂

Amamda, it’s not your wording that might cause misconceptions in expected range on the MetaCycle, it is the specifications wording that SONDERS has used repeatedly in touting the new MetaCycle.

To further clarify, Zero specifies city range according to an SAE test cycle, range @ 55 mph highway, range at 70 mph highway, and range in mixed riding city and highway. Maybe it’s been published and I missed it, but I have never seen SONDERS offer those type of useful specifications, only the “up to” numbers seen in this article.

It’s like the contractor’s rule: good, fast, cheap: pick one.

80 miles per hour or 80 miles of range: pick one.

I love the look of the bike and electric is in my future. But it will remain there until it’s affordable and I can get lost on my bike and still make it to a gas station and then home.

Greetings. Time will tell if the Metacycle is a “Boon or Bust”. Personally, I’d like to imagine the Metacycle as a New “Model T” on two wheels. Again, Time will Tell. Ride Safe. GOD Bless.

If you’re thinking about buying this bike, my suggestion is to call in to the number on the website. If you don’t get a person to answer the phone (you won’t), leave a message asking for a call back with the status of your order. You won’t get a call back. I finally got fed up with all the delays and lack of communication and cancelled my order. I should have received my refund by now, but still nothing. BUYER BEWARE
